IFS, Parts Work
The body remembers being held
The parts that never got met are still waiting. What happens when an adult body finally receives the contact those parts needed.

There is a specific loneliness that has nothing to do with your current life. It is older than that.
It is the loneliness of a part of you that never got what it needed, and never stopped waiting.
What that part is doing
In IFS language, these are the exiles. The young parts that took the impact when there was no one steady in the room. They carry the grief, the terror, the not-enoughness.
Other parts of you have been managing them for years. Achieving. Numbing. Staying busy. Staying alone. Anything so that the young part does not surface and drown you.
It is a full-time job. You are tired.
Why talking about it is not enough
You can name the part. You can understand the story. You can journal every angle of it.
And the body still holds the same tension, because the body was never met.
The part was not waiting for information. It was waiting for contact.
What contact actually does
When an adult body receives steady, safe touch. Weight. Warmth. Presence that does not leave when the feeling rises. Something in the young part registers: someone came.
Not the exact person from back then. That door is closed. But another human, in another room, meeting the body now.
The part does not need to be fixed. It needs to be met. Once it is met, it stops running the show.
Why we work in a room
This is why the sessions are embodied. The parts that need meeting live in the body. Meeting them requires another body.
A voice in an app is not that. A protocol is not that. Understanding is not that.
Being held is that.
