Breathwork
Why you cannot breathe your way out alone
Apps are useful. They are not enough for the deep material. This is what a facilitator actually holds.

Breathwork apps have their place. Daily coherence. Downregulation before sleep. A tool for the nervous system between sessions.
They are not the room where the deep material moves.
What happens when you go under
In a real breathwork session, the breath opens something. Grief that has been waiting. Rage that never had a witness. A memory the body kept when the mind let go.
When that surfaces, the last thing you need is a screen.
You need someone whose nervous system is steadier than yours in that moment. Someone who will not flinch. Someone who has been there themselves and knows the wave will complete if it is met.
What holding space actually means
It is not a phrase. It is a skill.
- Reading the body when the person cannot speak.
- Knowing when to place a hand and when to step back.
- Slowing your own breath so theirs can find a floor.
- Staying regulated when the intensity spikes.
- Not making it about you.
An app cannot do any of this.
Why this matters for training
This is why our training is in person. This is why we work with the body in the room. This is why we teach facilitators to be the steady presence, not the loud one.
Breath is the vehicle. Presence is the medicine.
Use the app. And know the line.
Keep your daily practice. Use the tools. And when the deeper material starts to move, come into a room with a body that can hold it with you.
That is where the work happens.
