Work, Money, Purpose
Work, money and purpose, the nervous system behind your calling
Burnout is a regulation failure. Money stories are parts. How to build a working life your body can sustain.
June 9, 2026

You did not choose your work in a vacuum. You chose it inside a nervous system, with money stories you inherited, in a body with its own pace. When the work asks more than the body can hold, you call it burnout. The body has been calling it something else for a while.
Burnout as a regulation failure
Burnout is not weakness. It is what happens when sympathetic activation runs unbroken for too long, without enough time inside the window of tolerance to recover. The fix is not more discipline. It is more regulation.
That means sleep, real meals, the right kind of movement, and time when no one is asking anything of you. Boring on the page. Revolutionary in the body.
Money is a parts conversation
Open your laptop on tax day and notice who shows up. The part that panics. The part that avoids. The part that says you are not allowed to want more. These are parts, and they each learned to keep you safe in a moment when something else was not.
You do not negotiate with them. You sit with them, and you let your grounded self decide.
Purpose, slowly
Purpose is not a job title. It is the felt sense that what you spend your days on belongs to you. Astrology can be a useful map here, not a forecast. It points at the shape of the life that fits your body, not the one your conditioning chose.
How relationships hold the work
The people around you regulate or dysregulate your working life. See love is co-regulation. A partnership that lets you rest is part of your career. A friendship that tells the truth is part of your purpose.
A practice to try
At the end of each working day, take three minutes. Hand on chest. Exhale longer than the inhale. Ask the body, did I overspend today. Listen for the answer.
